Before we officially announce the winners of the 2015 Miglior Press Essay Contest, we would like to thank all of the entrants. It has been a privilege to read and consider your essays. There were many fine ones, and judging them was often difficult. We want to encourage you to keep writing and reading and paying special attention to the world without and within.

First Prize — Matthew Chabin (Portland, OR) is the first-place winner for "The Dogs of Dharamsala." He will receive $500 and publication in an anthology of prize-winning essays to be published in the fall of 2015. Congratulations, Matthew!
